Bob Hope Classic Brings Out The Celebs
January 19, 2011

Fans of sports betting at BetUs - or anywhere, really - are getting excited about the return of the PGA Tour. After Jonathan Byrd and Mark Wilson kicked off the season with wins in Hyundai Tournament of Champions and the Sony Open, we now have our first A-list tournament of the season.

The Bob Hope Classic will take place between January 19 th - 23 rd and the purse of $5,000,000 isn't the only thing that's attracting fans. The course will be star-studded with all sorts of celebrities from all types of realms.

Alice Cooper and Kurt Russell might be the music and Hollywood headliners of sorts but there will be many others as well. The field will include some Hall of Fame athletes like "Dr. J." Julius Erving, who is one of the NBA's 50 best players of all-time, former Edmonton Oilers longtime goaltender Grant Fuhr, seven-time Pro Bowl running back, Marshall Faulk and Hall of Fame defensive end Bruce Smith.

From the world of movies and TV shows, actors like Craig T. Nelson ("Coach", "Parenthood"), Scott Wolf ("Party of Five") and TV regular Peter Gallagher.

And what's a little golf without some rock stars? Aside from Cooper, the lead guitarist of KISS, Tommy Thayer, will participate as well as Danny Seraphine, who founded the rock band Chicago and Don Felder, who was a member of The Eagles.

There will be many, many others competing this week in the tournament, which is fittingly in California.

If you're wondering about members from the PGA Tour, five members from the Tour's Top 10 money list (for the 2011 season) will be there. They include: Mark Wilson, Tim Clark, Steve Marino, Matt Kuchar and Matt Bettenncourt.

Last year's winner, Bill Haas, will be in the field attempting to defend his crown after a win in the 2010 season.
