The 'Get into the Swing' Campaign was launched in May aiming to encourage people to experience the game of Golf through organised coaching at clubs across the County.

The programme provides weekly one-hour group lessons - which run for give weeks - at the bargain price of £25. So far nearly 200 people across the County have taken part and feedback from participants has been excellent.

"The Get into the Swing sessions have been really great! The sessions are really laid back; you get some great coaching tips on technique. I have never played Golf before and have had no problem picking it up." Rachel Clerck, Beeston Fields Golf Club sessions.

'I attended the Get into the Swing at Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club, the coaches Craig and Claire were very friendly and accommodating.  They made me feel very welcome and helped progress my golf with the advice and coaching they both gave.' Sarah Williams

The courses welcome anyone 16 plus including complete beginners, so it's a fantastic chance to give a new sport a try. Golf Clubs across the County are running new sessions during August and September, with participating clubs in every Nottinghamshire district there should be no problem finding a club near you.

Matthew Bloor, County Development Officer for the Nottinghamshire County Golf Partnership, urged people to make the most of the benefits playing golf can bring.

"The Get into the Swing Campaign has been a great success, with golf clubs across the County providing a friendly and welcoming environment to learn the game." he said.

"PGA Golf Coaches ensure participants will always get great coaching and the sessions offer the chance to make new friends and enjoy an active social life, especially through golf club membership."

There are 17 clubs involved in the project clubs taking part, with 7 clubs running further courses in August & September. Their contact details and the day the courses are running is as follows:
