County Title for Jamie

Jamie Amor is Wilts Boys Champion

Having narrowly missed becoming County Divisional Champion earlier this year at only 14 years old, Jamie Amor has now taken the Boys County title.

"This event was postponed from June and played on 24th August at a blustery Upavon in truly testing conditions.

Jamie became the youngest winner at 14 since a certain David Howell in 1992. A 72 and 75 left Jamie with top spot and a rewarding visit to Woodhall Spa in September to represent Wiltshire in the English Junior Champion of Champions.

Check out the wcgu.org. uk site for full details. Great stuff Jamie, we are all very proud of you." here at Marlborough.

Jamie's rounds of 72 and 75 (gross) were compiled in a biting cold wind with rain showers against a ?eld of the ?nest boys in the county, many of whom were older (18 is the limit) with lower handicaps. In fact the lowest in the ?eld, off a formidable plus one, was older brother Ben!

How lucky are we to have two such ?ne young players at our club? Not to mention dad, Club Pro Simon who can also knock it round quite respectably! Well done Jame.
