12th December 2012

Trilby Tour Matchplay Competition now open - Have you got what it takes?

The Trilby Tour's latest new Matchplay competition is now open and taking entries online in a bid to find the ultimate Single and Pairs Matchplay Champion.

The Matchplay competition is the latest addition to the Trilby Tour and will give amateur golfers across the UK a chance to take part in a Trilby Tour event.

Competitors can enter online as a single player or as a pair (or both), play against local rivals and it's Winner Stays On, going through to the next round.

The final sixteen will then go through to the televised final next summer at a top secret venue and filmed as part of the Trilby Tour series on Sky Sports. All finalists will be kitted out with a William Hunt outfit, exclusive golf bag and caddy outfit.

Founder William Hunt says:

"It's a Trilby Tour event that anyone can take part in from across the UK and beyond. You play on your local course against a friendly rival and the winner goes through to the next round. Of course it gets progressively harder but that's the fun of the Matchplay.

Then we'll put the top 16 in front of the crowds and cameras and add a bit of drama into the mix - that's when we'll really start to sort the men from the boys!"

Entry details

Entry fee is £30 for singles, £60 for pairs. Maximum handicap 28, minimum age 18 years on May 1, 2013. The Matchplay competition is also open to international entrants outside of the UK.

The Trilby Tour 2013 event sold out in a record twenty minutes after entry went live. The demand from amateur golfers for a Trilby Tour event will be met with the new addition of the Matchplay competition allowing golfers to compete and play on their local course.
