Marlborough feature in Wiltshire win
21st June 2012

Wilts Are South West Champions The Wiltshire team have again triumphed in the SW Counties Championship seek and will go on to represent the South West in the English County Finals later in the year.

The 2012 team pictured above, back L-R: Ben Stow (Rushmore), Ben Loughrey (Wrag Barn), Tom Burley (Broome Manor), Ali James (Cumberwell), Josh Loughrey (Wrag Barn), Kevin Phillips (Broome Manor), Paul Green and Ben Amor (Marlborough). Front, L-R: Yoshio Takeuchi (Broome Manor), Robbie Busher (Salisbury), Captain David Bauer, President, Geoff Titt (West Wilts), Vice Captain Pete Bicknell, Jordan Smith and Garry Slade (Bowood).

The team is captained by Marlborough's David Bauer and includes two other Marlborough players - Paul Green and Ben Amor. Remarkably, Wiltshire won the national title last year for the first time in their 78 year history and will now be able to defend their title.

The margin of victory at the SW Championships was an impressive 25 shots so the team are clearly in the mood to put up a great fight to retain their English County Champions title!

What great days for our County, one of the smallest in the field.
