Bronte Law scores first USA Win

The top-ranked UCLA women's golf team finished second at the Pac-12 Preview Tuesday and freshman Bronte Law won her first US college tournament at the Nanea Golf Club in Hawaii.

Tournament organisers backed up the tees, stretching the length more than 300 yards from Monday's yardage, and scores were elevated in the final round, although par remained at 73.

The Bruins, who played 36-holes on Monday in 14-under par, recorded an even par round of 292 for a 54-hole total of 862 (-14). Southern California, which won its eighth consecutive tournament and fourth this Fall, won with a three-under par final round of 289 and a team total of 15-under 861. 

Washington, the 36-hole leader, captured third place at 869 (-7) after a nine-over par third round, and Arizona State was fourth at 874 (-2). 
Oregon placed fifth with a three-round team total of 881 (+5).

British Curtis Cup player Law from Stockport, England, who made 12 birdies Monday and just one bogey over 36 holes, recorded a final three-over par round of 76 for a 54-hole total of eight-under-par, after earlier scores of 70 and 65 over the par-73, 6112yd course.

Bronte won by one shot over Southern California's Annie Park, who posted a two-under par round of 71 on Tuesday. 

Tied for eighth were UCLA's Alison Lee , Louise Ridderstrom and Erynne Lee at 217 (-2). In the final round, Alison Lee posted a 71 (-2), Ridderstrom carded a 72 (-1) and Erynne Lee recorded a 73 (E). Senior Ani Gulugian tied for 26th at 224 (+5) following a final round score of 76 (+3).

A second English-born student in the field of 60 players, Charlotte Thomas from Surrey finished T13 on 218 with scores of 69, 74 and 75.
