The Cumbria team at last year's final of the North East and Cumbria Junior Golf Tour

The Cumbria team at last year's final of the North East and Cumbria Junior Golf Tour, held at Carus Green GC in Kendal, with Cumbria County Golf Partnership development officer Nicola Martindale. Could you win a place in this year's team?

THE search is on for the players who will fly the flag for Cumbria in the grand final of the North East and Cumbria Junior Golf Tour.

Entries are now open for the 2013 Cumbria Junior Tour, with the leading 16 players from the Order of Merit going forward to represent the county in the final.

In 2011 Cumbria came out on top against players from Northumberland and Durham at Ramside Hall.

The Order of Merit is based on four events in Cumbria during the summer and is aimed at children between the ages of seven and 12 (as of January 1, 2013).

The qualifying events are:

Saturday, May 25 Appleby Golf Club @ 2.30pm

Sunday, June 23 Barrow Golf Club @ 2pm

Sunday, July 14 Eden Golf Club @ 2:30pm

Sunday, August 11 Casterton Golf Club @ 2.30pm

After Cumbria played hosts to last year's final at Carus Green Golf Club, Kendal, the 2013 finale will be held at Matfen Hall, Northumberland, on Sunday, September 1.

Entry for all four qualifying events is only £18 or £6 for each individual event. To qualify for the final a player's best three scores out of four will count with the leading 16 players going forward to the final.
