The winners of the 2012-13 Hampshire Golf Partnership Development Tour were presented with their prizes at the newly opened American Golf Superstore in Hedge End.

They were nine-year old-James Hellyer of Hayling Island Golf Club and runner-up 12-year-old Will Paton of Waterlooville Golf Club. Both boys had identical total scores after all the Tour events last year and James won by just one shot on count back.

They received their prizes from Kevin Marris, the Partnership's Zone 4 manager, and American Golf Superstore manager, Mike Stone.

Mike said: “It is a pleasure to welcome these two outstanding young players to our new Superstore and to present them with their prizes, on behalf of American Golf.  We look forward to continuing our support of the Development Tour as it seeks to encourage Hampshire youngsters into golf   – they are the future of the game."

Kevin Marris expressed the thanks of Hampshire County Golf Partnership to their sponsors. “We are very grateful for the help we have received from TaylorMade and American Golf over the last two years. It really adds a special feel to our competitions to have two such prestigious golf companies giving support to our young, aspiring players”.

The presentation not only marked the end of the 2012-13 Development Tour but the beginning of the 2013-14 series of competitions.
