Get into golf – for free! Wiltshire Golf Week takes place in May with a host of taster sessions to inspire people to take up the sport.

The week starts on Bank Holiday Monday May 27, and the golf clubs and ranges offering free tasters include: Brome Manor, Chippenham, High Post and Tidworth Golf Clubs and Salisbury Golf Academy.

Everyone attending will also be given information about low-cost, follow-on coaching opportunities with PGA professionals.
In addition, North Wilts Golf Club is offering group coaching with PGA professionals throughout May, at just £3 per person per session – with reductions for block bookings of four or more.

The week is part of a festival of golf across the South West which supports the national Get into golf campaign. It is being run by the Wiltshire Golf Partnership, which brings together the men's, women's and professional organisations to grow the game in the county.

Neil Casling, the county development officer, commented: “I am very excited about Golf Week because Wiltshire has so much to offer the beginner golfer. Our golf clubs and driving ranges are working hard to encourage more people to play. They're passionate about helping new golfers progress from not being able to hit a ball to playing their first round on a golf course.

“Golf is a great game for everyone who enjoys friendship, fresh air and exercise and it's never been easier to get started. This is the perfect time of year to start, so come along and see us and we'll soon get you hooked!”
