Gofal Charity Golf Day: Raising funds for people experiencing mental ill health in Wales
June 12, 2012

Business and golf enthusiasts will come together on July 19th at the Vale Resort (Vale of Glamorgan) to take part in a charity golf day that will raise vital funds for people experiencing mental ill health in Wales.

In partnership with the Vale Resort, leading mental health and wellbeing charity Gofal will host a charity golf day to raise awareness of mental ill health in Wales. The day will consist of 18 holes on the magnificent Wales National Course and will encourage business networking between players. All the money raised by the players taking part will go towards supporting the 2000 people that Gofal provides services to each year.

Gofal’s Fundraising Manager, Trystan Jones, commented: “Gofal is pleased to team-up with one of Wales’ most prestigious golf resorts for this event. An event like this is a great way for business people to network whilst raising funds for an excellent cause. The fact that the players will be playing amid 650 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside that has hosted PGA tournaments will make the event that extra bit special.”

“There are still a few places left, so if you would like to get involved or enter a team, then please get in touch as soon as possible.”

Played in teams of 4, the Charity Golf Day will consist of:
• 10:00am - Tea / Coffee & Bacon sandwich
• 11:00am - 18 holes, shotgun start
• Hole-in-one challenge
• Longest drive challenge
• Closest to the pin challenge
• 2 course meal in the Vale Resort
• Chance to win prizes through a Gofal raffle
• Great networking opportunities

The cost is £65.00 per person / £260.00 per team of 4, and a booking form for the event can be downloaded here.

The Vale Resort’s Sales & Marketing Director, Paul Beddoe, commented: “We are delighted to be able to support the excellent work that Gofal does in supporting people affected by mental ill health.”

The programme for the event includes breakfast roll on arrival, 18 holes including a number of golfing challenges, plus a two-course meal in the Vale Resort at the end of the day, as well as the chance to win some great prizes in the raffle.
