Help for Heroes Annual Celebrity Golf Day
April 2, 2012

The Help for Heroes 2012 Celebrity charity golf event will be held on Wednesday 25th April, at the famous Stoke Park club in Buckinghamshire.

After two very successful events in 2010 and 2011, the 2012 event has been adopted by Help for Heroes as their official annual ‘Heroes Celebrity Golf Day’. Cignet Group, the event founders, has teamed up with the Volvo National Golf Club Challenge to pool their combined expertise to deliver a first-class day.

The event is supported by top celebrities, including Chris Evans and Ben Shepherd and sporting legends including Sir Clive Woodward, David Seaman and Michael Vaughan.

Event Chairman, Guy Rees, said he is “...absolutely delighted with the amazing support the event continues to receive from celebrities and other generous supporters. With their help, we are confident the Heroes National Celebrity Golf Day will make another generous donation to Help for Heroes.”

An Unforgettable Golfing Experience
Hailed as ‘one of the best golf days of the year’ by England Rugby legend and record cap holder, Jason Leonard, the Heroes National Celebrity Golf Day will provide an unforgettable golfing experience for all involved, whilst making a significant donation to the Help for Heroes charity.

The event will benefit from an impressive military presence, including ‘Battle Back’ golfers being treated to a special Golf Clinic by European Tour player Simon Khan. The Battle Back programme uses a number of sports such as golf, to help with the rehabilitation of wounded Service Personnel.

The video below from previous events will give you a flavour of this superb day.

Legends Set of Golf Clubs
The day will conclude with a special gala dinner and a charity auction which will include unique ‘money can’t buy’ prizes; like the ‘Legends Set of Golf Clubs’ donated by some of the biggest names in golf, both past and present, including clubs from Tiger Woods, Sir Nick Faldo, Luke Donald, Ernie Els, Gary Player, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, Greg Norman, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and more.

The Legends Set of Golf Clubs is an amazing ‘once in a life time’ lot and is expected to raise tens of thousands of pounds in the Heroes National Celebrity Golf Day auction for the Help for Heroes charity.

Sister Event For Golfers All Over the UK
Graciously giving of their time, the twenty four celebrity guests are taking part not only as a way to ‘do their bit’ in supporting Help for Heroes, but also as an opportunity to highlight how golfers all over the UK can show their support by playing in a sister event, the Volvo National Golf Club Challenge (NGCC).

The Volvo NGCC is a flag ship inter-club charity event for golfers everywhere to take part in supporting the great work Help for Heroes does for the wounded members of the Armed Forces.
