Join Grand National winner Bob Champion at charity golf and race day

February 2013

Bob Champion, MBE, will be the special guest at a golf and race day in aid of life-saving charity Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance at Lingfield Park. The former jump jockey, who rode Aldaniti to victory in the 1981 Grand National, is to be the charity’s celebrity tipster at the flat racing event on June 11th.

The day will start with teams of four playing a Stableford competition on the prestigious resort’s 18-hole course which was the home of the Surrey PGA Open for three years.

The championship course, set in 200 acres of parkland, offers bunkers, wind funnels, stream and ponds, making it ideal for golfers of all abilities.

There will be coffee and croissants on arrival and players can also enjoy a BBQ followed by an evening’s racing.

Air Ambulance Head of Corporate Relations Cheryl Johnson said: “It will be a great day out with an opportunity for businesses to entertain their clients, guests and partners.

“They will enjoy an un-missable experience of meeting one of racing’s great legends, Bob Champion, and help raise funds for the Air Ambulance at the same time.”

Tickets cost £99 per person or £396 per team but there is a separate package for just the racing and BBQ at £49 per person.

Places are limited so to avoid disappointment please ensure that you register your interest as soon as possible. The deadline to book tickets is March 28th.

For more information or to book a team contact Cheryl Johnson on 01622 833833 or email cherylj@kssairambulance.org.uk.

The Air Ambulance service in Kent, Surrey and Sussex costs around £5 million annually to stay airborne. Receiving no funding from the National Lottery the charity relies almost entirely upon the generosity of the public to support the two helicopters, based at Marden and Dunsfold.
