A LITTLE birdie is calling for some help on the golf course from players of all ages.

Monty, the National Meningitis Trust mascot, is looking for teams of four players to bid for the title of Classic charity Golfer of the Year 2001 – and at the same time raise funds for the Trust’s vital work in supporting those affected by meningitis, raising awareness and funding vital research.

Qualifying rounds for this prestigious golf tournament will be played in May, June and July next year at 12 different courses in England and Scotland.  The grand final will be held at a major championship course in September.

The cost is £300 per player, and entries should be in teams of four.  Entry forms and further details are available from Lisa James at the National Meningitis Trust, Fern House, Bath Road, Stroud, Glos GL5 3 TJ, telephone 01453 769022.
