The afternoon round saw some spectacular golf, Price eagled the first hole to take a two hole lead, from there the match was swinging Prices’ way and he cruised into a 3 hole advantage with 5 holes to play, however, Sullivan was not prepared to let the Championship slip away and he birdied both 14 and 15 but Price also managed to birdie 15 to retain a 2 hole advantage. The 16th saw a dramatic change in fortuned with Price finding the water that enabled Sullivan to reduce the deficit to 1.

The 17th hole was halved in par and therefore the match reached the final hole with Price retaining his 1 hole advantage both players made regulation par 4’s and Price claimed his first Portuguese Amateur Championship

. As Portuguese Amateur Champion David Price will now go forward to compete in the European Tour’s Portuguese Open which will be held at the Quinta do Lago Golf Club from the 26th – 29th April. The victory is just reward for the considerable effort that the Welsh Golfing Union and its players are making to achieve success on an International stage.
