Welsh Amateur champion Alastair Jones will replace Rhys Enoch in the Wales team to compete in the Eisenhower Trophy in Argentina, the World Championships of amateur golf.
Truro's Enoch, a student at East Tennessee, has suffered a shoulder injury, a tear to his labrum. Medical advice suggests there is no guarantee he will recover in time to take part at the event in Argentina at the end of the month.
Jones, from Radyr and a student in Texas State, was the reserve for the team and will step up to join Rhys Pugh, Vale of Glamorgan, and Oliver Farr, Ludlow.
The event will be held in Buenos Aires and Wales ' men will be looking to improve on their last showing in the Eisenhower Trophy where they finished a creditable 11 th in Adelaide, Australia, just seven strokes out of a medal position.
