Kent's top Amateur golfers competed for the prestigious Kent Amateur Championships over the weekend that was won in impressive style by Michael Saunders from Dartford Golf Club.
In a very high-class field the County's top seventy-two Amateurs competed at the Langley Park Golf Club over 36 holes of stroke play on the first day with the second & third days being match play knockout for the top sixteen.
Saunders had a tough route to the final having to beat England International Liam Harper from Lydd as well as the very experienced Danny Holmes (Langley Park) along the way.
Large crowds followed the final that produced outstanding golf from both players with Michael winning on the eighteenth hole beating Kevin O'Connell from Shooters Hill GC by two.
