Two of England's brightest young prospects, Max Orrin ( North Foreland , Kent) and Toby Tree ( Worthing , Sussex), will represent the EGU in the Thunderbird International Junior at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, on 27th - 30th May.
Both are members of the England under 18 squad, both have been capped at under 16 level for the past two years, and they will seek to bring the EGU its first success in the annual event played over the Raptor Course.
Orrin, (picture © Tom Ward) who celebrated his 17th birthday on 13th May, currently lies fifth on the 2011 Boys Order of Merit after finishing runner-up in the Darwin Salver at Rye and third in the Fairhaven Trophies.
A former South of England boys champion, Orrin finished runner-up to Tree in the Douglas Johns Trophy in 2009 and second behind Tree again last year in the English boys under 16 Championship for the McGregor Trophy.
Tree, 17 on 3rd June, the English under 14 champion in 2008, completed the double with the under 16 title last year having been Sussex boy champion in 2009. In 2010, he was also capped at boys' level in the Boys Home Internationals and finished runner-up in the North of England under 16 stroke play championship.
The format for the Thunderbird is 54 holes of stroke play over three days. A practice round will be held on 27th May while tournament begins on 28th May, with first and second-rounds off the first and tenth tees. The final round will be on 30th May again with a two tee start.
