Six England players in GB&I teams
The GB&I teams selected for next month's Vagliano Trophy and the new U16 girls' match - both against the Continent of Europe - include six England players. In addition Charley Hull and Charlotte Ellis (Minchinhampton) are reserves for the Vagliano Trophy team while Olivia Winning (Rotherham) and Ellie Goodall (Selby) are girls' reserves Both matches will take place at Royal Porthcawl, South Wales, on Friday and Saturday, June 24-25. The girls' match is being played for the first time. Both Holly Clyburn and Kelly Tidy have also been selected for the GB&I team for the Astor Trophy matches against Australia, Canada, South Africa and New Zealand at Fairhaven Golf Club, Lytham St Annes from June 15 to 19. Georgia Hall, 15, is the English U15 champion and was top qualifier for the matchplay stages at the English women's amateur championship. She is an England girl international. Charley Hull, 15, won on the Orange Blossom Tour in Florida in January, is the Welsh women's open strokeplay champion and reached the final of the English women's championship. She made her debut for England ladies at the Home Internationals as a 14-year-old. Bronte Law, 16, won the Scottish U16 strokeplay championship and was the top England player in the weather shortened St Rule Trophy. She is an England girl international. Amber Ratcliffe,15, won the girls' championship at the Fairhaven Trophies and was third at the Scottish U16s where she teamed up with Bronte and Georgia to win the Nations Cup for England.
