The Trilby Tour announces a prestigious line-up for the 2011 Amateur Championships.
The Trilby Tour continues to go from strength to strength as it announces the line-up of an incredible club list for the 2011 season. Venues span the breadth of the country including Trevose in Cornwall and Rockliffe Hall in Durham whilst Slieve Russell in Co. Cavan hosts the Ireland Championship this summer. Other venues include Donnington Grove in Berkshire, Goodwood in Sussex and Old Thorns in Hampshire. Last year's clubs the KP Club, The Oxfordshire and Marriott Sprowston Manor make a return in 2011 to feature in the Trilby Tour for the second year running.
William Hunt says: "We've got some cracking courses this year sure to test the toughest of players. I don't intend to make it easy for them - that's not what the Trilby Tour is about. But we'll see who rises to the top, and these boys love a challenge!" 2011 Venues May 12th - Donnington Grove, Berkshire May 18th - Old Thorns, Hampshire May 24th - Trevose, Cornwall June 2nd - KP Club, Yorkshire June 30th - Rockliffe Hall, Durham July 14th - Slieve Russell, Ireland July 21st - Goodwood, Sussex July 29th - Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire August 4th - Marriott Sprowston Manor About the Trilby Tour The Trilby Tour is a multi event amateur golf tournament event created by William Hunt where amateurs compete under professional conditions for the chance to win the top Winner Takes All prize. Each round is broadcast as part of a summer series on Sky Sports with the top prize going to the winner of the final event. Players pay a £250 entry fee and are kitted out with William Hunt outfit, trilby hat, limited edition Callaway golf bag, and caddy outfit. A Professional Event for Amateurs The appeal of the tournament lies in its unusual competitive format and concludes with a 4-man, 3-hole shootout to decide the winner. The tournament has had an incredibly enthusiastic response from the Amateur community with players hailing it the closest experience to a Professional event. Die-hard fans return year after year gripped by its fierce competitive format: "I love to see grown men shaking at the first tee - some of them think they have it all under control and then they break like a pack of cards in front of the cameras. And then they relive that moment when the screening comes out - now that's hard." "It's fantastic to see the Trilby Tour community growing; we have some guys coming back each year - I call them Trilby Tourians. There's a brilliant camaraderie on and off the course and we've even created our own mini Facebook on the website where players can meet up and get together for a practice round or social." Enter
