MARLBOROUGH PAIR TO REPRESENT WILTSHIRE

Marlborough members Paul Green and Ben Amor are to represent Wiltshire in the inter county matchplay and strokeplay week between the six South West Counties. This year the "South West Week" will take place at Cumberwell Park commencing 10 th June.

On Tuesday 12 th there will be a 36 hole championship, both individual and a team qualifier for the English County Finals. The team winners go on to represent the South West against the North, Midlands and South East. Last year Wiltshire won the qualifier (4 th year out of 5) and went on to become English champions at Ganton. The first time Wiltshire have been English Champions in 85 years of trying.

The Matchplay is a round robin, 8 singles, 4 foursomes.Last year Wiltshire had a clean sweep. Matchplay, strokeplay, Individual and Colts. The golfers are the very best in the SW. Typical handicaps are scratch and below. have home advantage this year at Cumberwell and are looking for a repeat. Support would be welcome, especially on the Tuesday. You will see some amazing golf...the average club golfer has no idea how good these guys are!
