Tupton School Success DERBYSHIRE COUNTY GOLF PARTNERSHIP TUPTON HALL school scored a double success at the Derbyshire Schools Golf Championships. Jamie Booth and James Bacon completed a one-two at the top of the leaderboard for the school, which is based in Station New Road in Old Tupton, near Chesterfield, when more than 60 players lined up at Chevin Golf Club. Chesterfield Golf Club member Jamie came out on top in an exciting competition with a score of 76-8-68. James, a member at Shirland GC, was just a shot behind after returning 86-17-69. Bradley Moore, of Woodlands School in Derby, completed a hat-trick of victories in the Will Sheppard Memorial Trophy , presented to the best gross score by a Year 10 or below . The Kedleston Park player, who plays off plus one, returned a gross round of 73. The winner of the Don Lamb Cup , presented to the best gross score by a Year 8 or below went to Ryan Hampton , in Year 8 at Heritage High School in Clowne. He beat the only primary school player, Joshua Ashton of Inkersall Primary, on countback after both finished with commendable 84s. Friesland school, situated in Nursery Avenue in Sandiacre, scored a narrow win in the Team Championships, pipping Long Eaton, in Thoresby Road, on a countback. They will now travel to England Golf's headquarters at Woodhall Spa to represent Derbyshire in the English Schools' Team Championships on July 11. The leading 16 finishers in the championships now go forward to compete in the Derbyshire Schools Matchplay Championships at Matlock Golf Club in September.
