Major championship date for Georgia Hall12th February 2013
She's one of nine leading amateurs to receive an invitation to play in the championship and she commented: It's a great honour and I can't wait I'm over the moon. Georgia, 16, is the European women's number one amateur and is ranked fourth in the world. This will be her first professional tournament and the first time she plays in the USA. It's the biggest major in the world what a way to start! said Georgia, from Remedy Oak in Dorset. My first aim is to make the cut and also to see how other people play and what I can learn from them. I want to see if I'm doing anything wrong or right. I didn't expect the invitation and it's just amazing. I've always wanted to go to America to play. Georgia, an England international, is the British girls' champion and has just started her 2013 campaign by winning two gold medals at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival. Among the other amateurs who have received invitations are world number one Lydia Ko of New Zealand, who has just won her third professional title, and British champion and Curtis Cup player Stephanie Meadow of Ireland.
