SUFFOLK GOLF PARTNERSHIP PRESS RELEASE
Suffolk Golf Week set to tee off
 |
 |
A Get into golf event attracts newcomers to the game.
|
The first Suffolk Golf Week will tee off in April to inspire more people to start playing the game.
The event from April 22-28 will offer free tasters to beginners and returners at 12 clubs and driving ranges across the county. After each session, participants will be given information about low-cost follow-on coaching opportunities. These include six week courses of group lessons with a PGA professional from £30 per person.
The week is run by the Suffolk Golf Partnership, which brings together the men's, women's and professional organisations to grow the game in the county. It follows the US Masters championship, when interest in golf is on the upswing, ahead of the English summer, and it is part of a festival of golf across the Eastern counties to support the national Get into golf campaign.
Bev Waspe, the Partnership's 16+ co-ordinator, commented: Golf is a great game for everyone who enjoys friendship, fresh air and exercise and this is the ideal time of year to start.
We're hoping lots of people of all ages will give golf a go during the week. They'll discover that our golf clubs and driving ranges are welcoming, accessible and keen to encourage more people to play. There's never been a better time or place to learn.
To find out about Suffolk Golf Week opportunities visit www.getintogolf.org and click on the activity map. All you have to do is book your place and turn up on the day in comfortable clothing equipment is provided.
