Grant and Gribben complete great week for University of Ulster

University of Ulster completed a memorable week, adding the men's and ladies' Intervarsity Championship titles to the team match play crown they won on Tuesday at The Heritage.

A sensational three-round total of 211 saw Ryan Gribben canter to an eight-stroke victory amid a cold breeze at the Co Laois venue, while Paula Grant was equally as comfortable in her victory in the Ladies' competition, with rounds of 68 and 79 giving her an eight-shot winning margin over DCU's Amy Farrell.

Gary Hurley (NUIM) won the Intervarsity Series, in which the stroke play sprints played in November in Carton House and February in Strandhill were combined with the Intervarsity Championship to determine the winner.

Hurley also finished third in the championship, a final round 80 leaving him tied with his college-mate Shaun Carter, who won the silver medal.
