Champions Beat the Weather
While the rest
of the country battled the surprise April snowstorms, Cambs and
Hunts County Ladies were sparring with each other in the County
Foursomes Championships.� On Tuesday, 4th April, The
Links GC, Newmarket hosted the Championships, welcoming players
from 15 different clubs across the County.
Despite atrocious
weather conditions, the players carded exceptional scores for the
morning round with Julie Walter (St Ives) and Paula Parker (Abbotsley)
heading the leader board.With torrential rain turning to sleet and
snow, the afternoon round was cut to 10 holes. However, Walter and
Parker maintained their steady morning form to hang on to their
slender lead with a final gross score of 133.
