MIDSUMMER
GOLFATHON FOR THE NSPCC
GORDON STRACHAN & WILLIE THORNE TO PLAY
FROM "DAWN 'TIL DUSK"
Coventry
City Football Club Manager Gordon Strachan, and Snooker Star Willie
Thorne are joining Nailcote Hall's proprietor Rick Cressman in a
challenge to set the world record with the greatest number of par
3 holes in the day as possible on 21 June - the longest day of the
year - to raise funds for the NSPCC in Coventry, England.
The
Cromwell Course at Nailcote Hall plays host to "The British
Professional Short Course Championship" on 15-16 August, so
they know the challenge will not be easy! And with natural hazards
as a lake and tall trees - plus tight greens and strategically placed
deep bunkers - the 1031 yard course demands respect and "more
haste" may well mean "less holes". Nevertheless,
they are all keen players at Nailcote Hall - and hopefully know
where some of the pitfalls lie!
There's
a lot of fun planned for the day and a chance for fundraisers /
sponsors to win some great prizes for their support. There will
also be a prize for those who guess correctly the number of holes
completed by each player at the end of the day.
Anyone
raising over £150 will receive a bottle of wine, over £250
bottle of Champagne or a Beauty Treatment, over £500 - Sunday
Lunch for Two in the Oak Room restaurant. But the person raising
the most amount for the NSPCC will be able to go to a "Poirot"
style Murder Mystery Weekend. The corporate sponsors incentive is
Dinner for Six and Champagne in the Oak Room restaurant for correctly
guessing the number of holes they think their chosen players will
do.
