THE
HELP THE AGED UNISYS CLUB CHALLENGE:
ARE THERE ANY TIGERS HIDING
IN YOUR CLUB'S WOODS?
Help the Aged is inviting clubs from
around Britain to sign up their members for the largest charity
golf championship in the country. The Help the Aged Unisys Club
Championship is a national event, attracting entries from over 360
clubs. The Championship, now in its twelfth year, culminates in
a national final at The Belfry, home of the 2001 Ryder Cup, in September
2000.
The
Championship provides a challenging way for golfers to raise money
for older people in the United Kingdom. The continuing support of
Unisys, the Championship's sponsors, has helped this tournament
raise nearly £400,000 to date. Golf clubs across the country
will be running qualifying competitions, in a format of their own
choice, between now and 16th July 2000. Clubs in the past have organized
either an individual competition or have combined the event with
an existing monthly medal. The winner of each club competition goes
forward to one of eight prestigious regional finals culminating
in the national final at The Belfry on 19th September.
The
regional finals will take place during July and August at the following
clubs, which have been carefully chosen for their excellent courses,
locations and entertainment facilities:
