LADY
CAPTAIN WELCOMES MPA GOLF DAY
Linda Walmsley,
the inaugural Lady Captain at Worsley Park Golf Club, is delighted
to welcome the Manchester Publicity Association (MPA), of which
she is a long standing member, to the prestigious Manchester Hotel
and Golf Club for its annual golf day on 29th June 2000.
Over 160 golfers
will play in the event with an additional 100 guests attending in
the evening.� Linda said, �I have no doubt that the MPA golfers
will enjoy the course which is in terrific shape.� This year alone,
over 300k has been invested in course improvements.�
Linda is a director
at executive recruitment company Walton Churchill Search & Selection
where she specialises in media and IT sectors.� She is a well-known
face amongst the MPA membership having formerly worked as the Northern
Advertisement Manager at The Guardian Media Group.
Linda has been
an effective ambassador for the lady members at Worsley Park during
her first year in office.� She commented:
�I was initially
impressed by Worsley Park Golf Club because of its attitude towards
lady golfers.� We are treated entirely equally, competitions are
mixed with prizes for men and women, everyone can play at any time,
in fact, the only separation is in the provision of dedicated changing
facilities.� Despite only being in its second year, the club membership
is full and we are delighted to have attracted a number of sporting
celebrity members � most of whom are probably resting now before
next season begins.�

event by sponsoring a nearest pin competition at the forth hole.
