LADIES GOLF CLASSIC
The
regional finals for this year's annual NSPCC Ladies' Golf Classic
- the UK & Ireland's largest national amateur tournament for
women golfers - are soon being held at clubs around the country.

Clubs
will be competing for a place in the Grand Final at the Forest of
Arden Golf Club, Warwickshire on 7-8 October.
Now
in its tenth year, the 2000 Ladies Golf Classic promises to be the
best and biggest yet. For the first time Scottish Clubs have been
invited to compete and all income raised in Scotland will benefit
Children 1st, the NSPCC's sister charity in Scotland.
The
2000 event is sponsored by Nicklaus Golf Equipment and leading golfing
holiday tour operator, Specialist. The raffle prize, is a Specialist
holiday worth nearly £4,000 at the US Masters, including two
rounds of golf at superb Carolina courses nearby.
Last
year's competition saw 13,000 entrants from over 400 clubs raise
£15,000 for the NSPCC's child protection work.
Clubs
still wishing to stage qualifying matches of this Fourball Betterball
Stableford competition are asked to play by the end of July. For
