The
2000 Roxburghe Challenge
Garcia,
Parnevik, HRH The Duke of York and Alan Shearer to play in the 2000
Roxburghe Challenge, in Aid of the NSPCC Full Stop Campaign.
The
Duke of Roxburghe today confirmed the players for The 2000 Roxburghe
Challenge, which will take place on Sunday 16th July,
at The Roxburgue Course.
Two
of the world�s leading professionals Sergio Garcia and Jesper Parnevik
will play in the second Roxburghe Challenge.� HRH The Duke of York and Alan Shearer have
also agreed to play.� This
charity challenge match being played on the 7111 yard Roxburghe
Golf Course, will attract major attention in the world of golf on
the Sunday prior to the Open.� Spectator

The
format for the challenge is a two-team competition, with four players.�
The two amateurs in each team, have been sponsored by J Boag
& Son, Australia�s Premium Brewer.
Philip
Adkins, Chief Executive, said:� �We are delighted to participate in this unique
event.� Sergio Garcia and
Jesper Parnevik are two of the most exciting golfers in the world
today.� In addition we are proud to be involved as
a principle supporter of the Roxburghe Challenge.�
When
asked about his commitment to the match Alan Shearer said:�
�I am looking forward to playing in this golfing event, especially
as it will benefit a charity very close to my heart.�
The
2000 Roxburghe Challenge is hoping to attract more than 2,000 visitors
through the various types of sponsorship packages and tickets that
are available.� All surplus
proceeds from the event are being given to the NSPCC Full Stop Campaign,
and CHILDREN 1st.

his home in The Scottish Borders, The Duke of Roxburghe today said:�
�First of all I would like to thank J boag & Son for
their commitment and support and the players for making this, the
second Roxburghe Challenge possible.� Not only will visitors have the opportunity to see two of the world�s
top golfers in action, but by purchasing a ticket they will be helping
to raise a significant of money for the NSPCC.�

NSPCC is the world�s leading child protection charity; HRH The Duke
of York heads The Full Stop Campaign. Jim Harding, Chief Executive

that the Duke of Roxburgue is helping the Full Stop Campaign through
this year�s Roxburghe Challenge.�
The Full Stop Campaign aims to end cruelty to children within
a generation and we can only continue our vital child protection
