SEALY GETS INTO THE SWING

June will see Aspatria-based bed manufacturer Sealy United Kingdom continue its annual sponsorship of Cumbria's two major golf events - The Stan Boardman Celebrity Golf Classic in aid of the local Help a CFM Child charity and the Sealy Cumbrian Masters.

This will be the fifth Golf Classic that Sealy has supported in this way, so far raising over £50,000 for charity. This year's celebrity tournament will take place at Carlisle Golf Club on Sunday 11 June, with many well-known names from the world of sport and entertainment expected to take part. Previous celebrity golfers have included Norman Wisdom, Norman Collier, Eddie the Eagle, Eric Bristow and Ian St John.

On the Sunday evening a black tie presentation dinner featuring a star-studded cabaret will be held at the Swallow Hilltop Hotel in Carlisle.

The 2000 Sealy Cumbrian Masters will take place at Keswick Golf Club, with a pro-am tournament on Monday 12 June and a professional tournament on Tuesday 13 June. Held in association with the North East and North West PGA, this will be the third such event.
