2000 STAFFORDSHIRE
LADIES COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP
The
73rd Staffordshire Ladies' County Championship is to be held at
Leek Golf Club on 3rd, 4th and 5th May next.� This year's event
has attracted 33 entries, all of whom will be competing for the
Viscountess Lewisham Cup - awarded to the Championship winner.
The competitors
will each play 36 holes on day one, with the best 16 scores qualifying
for the match-play stages, to be held over the second and third
days.� The leading qualifier will succeed in winning the inscribed
Wedgwood Bowl.� The 1999 County Champion, Corrine Campion, (Ingestre
Park), will be defending her title.
The Final is
scheduled for 1.45 p.m. prompt on Friday, 5th May.

Josiah Wedgwood and Sons Limited for the 17th successive year, the
event will be concluded with the presentation of the Viscountess
Lewisham Cup and the Wedgwood Bowl, together with prizes for the
runners-up and Wedgwood mementoes for the leading scores returned
in the qualifying rounds.� Miss Gaye Blake Roberts, Curator of the
Wedgwood Museum, will unfortunately be unable to be present this
year, and the presentations will be made by another representative
of the Company.
