THE WALES OPEN: UPDATE

The Wales Open is being staged at the Celtic Manor Resort's new 7403 yards, par 72 Wentwood Hills course on 8-11 June with a host of top players competing for the £750,000 prize fund.

Wentwood Hills it he newest of three courses at The Celtic Manor Resort, all three courses are designed by Robert Trent Jones Ventures. The course was opened in May 1999, with an exhibition match between former Ryder Cup captain Mark James and former US Master champion Ian Woosnam. The course has since staged a PGA Mastercard Tour event, the 12th International European Amateur Championship and the Whitbread Welsh Classic.
