A Club who fails
to appear on the day and has not given three days notice of their
withdrawal to the Branch Secretary shall incur a penalty of �100.
Future entry to the Competition by the club shall not be accepted
until the penalty is paid in full.
Handicap.
No player shall
be eligible to compete in this Competition whose playing handicap
was less than 6 in the calendar year 2000. The combined lowest playing
handicap for each pair during the calendar year 2000 shall not be
less than 17.
In order to
be eligible to compete, a player shall have, in the calendar year
prior to the event, returned a minimum of four cards in qualifying
competitions.
Mode of Play.
Each team to
consist of 10 male members and play shall be by foursome scratch
medal play in the qualifying round. Thirty-two teams will qualify
for the match play stage, four from each section. The best four
cards from five to count. In the event of a tie, the score of the
fifth card to be added to the other four. If still a tie the fifth
card shall be used in accordance with the R&A approved method
for breaking ties over eighteen holes.
Practice.
Teams to contact
host Club beforehand. Green fees are payable. Once practice round
(at least) will be charged as if playing with a member. Teams must
produce identification if requested.
