way and he cruised into a 3 hole advantage with 5 holes to play,
however, Sullivan was not prepared to let the Championship slip
away and he birdied both 14 and 15 but Price also managed to birdie
15 to retain a 2 hole advantage. The 16th saw a dramatic
change in fortuned with Price finding the water that enabled Sullivan
to reduce the deficit to 1.
The 17th
hole was halved in par and therefore the match reached the final
hole with Price retaining his 1 hole advantage both players made
regulation par 4s and Price claimed his first Portuguese Amateur
Championship
