Cigar & Golf Day
The first combined
cigar and golf day, promoted jointly by Aardvark, the internet cigar
retailer and Leisuresports, event organisers, supported by GolfToday
was held at the Wilmslow Golf Club on the 14th October.
The course was
in superb condition and the weather kind with warm autumn sunshine
and virtually windless conditions. Twenty four players contested
18 holes of stableford competition for some excellent prizes provided
by Cobra Golf.
The winner with
a an excellent 38 points was Nick Sefton (18), runner up Tony Lewis
(16) with 38 points and 3rd local publican Brett Hutchinson
(6) 33 points.
After the golf
the players were joined by a number of other guests and after enjoying
an excellent dinner provided by the club caterers Gwen and David
Chasen an entertaining and informative talk was given on the art
of cigar rolling and storage. Guests had the opportunity of sampling
the product and a lively question and answer session ensued.
Adjudged by
all to be a great success further golf and cigar days are planned
for early in the New Year with venues in and around London, The
Midlands, and again in the Manchester area.
