AMERICAN
GOLF-UK'S SECOND ANNUAL WOMEN IN GOLF DAY WILL OFFER FREE GOLF CLINICS
AND SPECIAL EVENTS AT SIXTEEN OF THEIR LOCATIONS IN THE UK
Saturday
24 April 1999
Following
the tremendous success of American Golf-UK's first annual Women
in Golf Day in September last year, the company, the UK's largest
golf operator, will host its second annual Women in Golf Day
on Saturday, 24th April 1999. Since last year's event, American
Golf-UK has continued its expansion programme with the acquisition
of five more courses in the Essex, Hertfordshire and West Sussex
areas giving even more women the opportunity to attend Women
in Golf Day this year. More than 2,500 women are expected to
take part and will be treated to free golf clinics, demonstrations
and other golf-related special events.
Staged
at 16 golf courses operated by American Golf in the south east,
south west and Midlands areas of England, Women in Golf Day
is designed to introduce golf to women in a fun, non-intimidating
environment and is open to women of all ages and skill levels. In
addition to golf instruction clinics (both for novice and advanced
players), Women in Golf Day activities will include golf
etiquette lessons, putting contests, fashion shows, refreshments
and fun and games. The events and activities are free yet funds
raised on the day from donations will be donated to Marie Curie
Cancer Care. In 1998 over £1,500 was raised for the Marie
Curie Cancer Care Charity.
American
Golf is the largest and most experience operator of golf facilities
in the world. The company employees over 15,000 men and women and
operates over 300 courses in the United States and United Kingdom.
