CHARITY
TEES UP FUNDRAISING GOLF TOURNAMENT
Amateur
golfers are being invited to take part in a charity tournament to
raise funds for leading older people's charity, BRUNELCARE.
The
fourth Brunelcare Amateur Golf Tournament will take place on 1st
July at Mendip Spring Golf Club, Congresbury, Bristol.
This
year's tournament, sponsored by BCWA Healthcare, one of the UK's
leading healthcare insurers, will be played over 18 holes and teams
of four players are invited to take part.
The
winners will scoop the Brunelcare silver trophy, which the team
is entitled to keep for one year, and individual commemorative Bristol
Blue Glass Awards given by BCWA Healthcare. There will also be cash
prizes for the first, second, third and fourth place teams.
Becky
Davis, Brunelcare's community fundraiser, said: "This is the
fourth year of the tournament and we're hoping it will be the most
successful and enjoyable so far. Last year the event raised over
£5,500 but we are hoping to raise even more this year."
"We
have lined up a great course, with refreshments provided, and we're
confident it will be a wonderful day out for golfers."
"We'd
like to encourage corporate teams as well as groups of golfing friends
to enter, with all the money raised going towards our work caring
for older people of limited means in Bristol and Somerset."
Also
within the competition, there will be individual prizes for the
longest drive on the 13th hole, nearest the pin on the 18th hole,
and a shared prize of 50 golf balls for all players scoring a gross
two on any par three holes.
There
is a £250 entry fee per corporate team of four players. A
group of friends who do not represent a company will be asked to
pay a minimum entry fee of £199 per team.
Brunelcare
are also appealing for sponsorship for the event itself. Sponsoring
an event costs as little as £100 and sponsoring one of the
competitions costs between £150 and £200.
