TEE
OFF FOR NCH ACTION FOR CHILDREN
Pontardawe Golf
Club in South Wales are holding their annual charity Golf Day for
leading childcare charity NCH Action for Children on Thursday 30th
September. Now in its 11th year, the event raises funds for some
of the UK's most vulnerable children.
Since the event
started in 1988 players have raised over £22,000 and it is
hoped that this year will prove a record breaker. The winning team
get their names inscribed on the "Woosnam Club Trophy"
which is proudly displayed all year round at the club house. NCH
Action for Children would be only too happy if any other golf clubs
around the UK wanted to take them on as their charity of the year,
and would provide all the support needed. Any golf club captains
can contact the NCH media office on 0171 704 7105.
Pontardawe in
the Swansea Valley falls in between the glorious Gower Peninsula,
an area designated of "outstanding natural beauty" with
its unspoilt beaches and the contrasting rugged peaks of the Brecon
Beacons National Park. So if you fancy a golfing challenge, some
breathtaking scenery and at the same time help raise as much needed
money for children in need get in touch on 0345 626579. There are
a limited number of tee off times starting at 11.30am, so please
make contact soon. The competition uses a Fourball Betterball Stableford
format, played off back boxes and the maximum handicap is 18.
NCH Action of
Children is one of the UK's leading children's charities, working
with 36,000 children, their families and communities through more
