NORTHERN COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIP

Yorkshire are defending the title they won last year at Hexham. They went on to win the English County Finals convincingly at Stoneham last September, winning all their three matches. There is only one change from last year's team and that is S East for J Lupton and they must be strong favourites to win again. They will however, be pushed all the way by the strong Lancashire, Durham and Cheshire teams.

The winning county at Formby qualifies to play at Seaton Carew on 1-3 October, when they play the winners of the other three regional group championships.
