Anyone know about the best golf courses in New Buffalo, Michigan?

I’m planning a trip to New Buffalo, Michigan, and I’m really interested in hitting the local golf courses while I’m there. I’ve heard a bit about a few places, but I’d love to get some solid recommendations. Here’s what I’m looking for:

What I’m Interested In:

  • Course Quality: Are there any new courses that have opened recently, or well-known ones that are worth a visit?
  • Suitability: I’m a mid-level player, so I’d prefer courses that are challenging but not overly difficult. Any suggestions on where I might fit in best?
  • Amenities: What facilities do these courses offer? Things like driving ranges, putting greens, or club rentals are important to me.
  • Pricing and Accessibility: I’d like to know about the pricing for green fees and whether I need to book in advance.

Specific Courses Mentioned:

  • I’ve heard talk about the Whittaker Woods Golf Club and the The Dunes Club. Has anyone had the chance to play there? Would love to hear your thoughts!
  • Are there any hidden gems I might be missing out on that could provide a great golfing experience?

Additional Tips:

If anyone has tips on local restaurants or accommodations that would be great for a golfing trip, please share those too! I’m aiming for a fun weekend of golf and relaxation.

Looking forward to your suggestions and insights!

If you’re looking for great golf in New Buffalo, check out Whittaker Woods! The course is beautiful with some challenging holes and great views of nature.

Absolutely! Whittaker Woods is fantastic. I played there last summer and really enjoyed the layout. Definitely a must-visit!

You guys should also consider The Dunes Club! It’s a bit exclusive, but the course is stunning and offers a unique golfing experience.

I’ve heard great things about The Dunes Club, but the exclusivity can make it tough to book a tee time. Is it worth the hassle?

For a fun and relaxed round, try Pebblewood Golf Course. It’s not super fancy, but it’s great for beginners and affordable too!

That’s a good recommendation! I appreciate courses that cater to beginners like Pebblewood. Keeps the pressure off!

Another option is the Forest Dunes Golf Club about an hour away. It’s one of the top-ranked courses in the state and worth a drive.

Wow, I hadn’t heard of that one before. Sounds like a great adventure! Anyone have more details?

I’d suggest checking out the Lake Michigan hills courses too - they often have breathtaking views, especially at sunset.

Sunsets and golfing sounds perfect! Any specific courses around Lake Michigan you recommend?

I recently played at Grand Mere State Park. Not a typical course, but it’s beautiful and right near the beach - a different kind of golfing fun!

I’ve been to New Buffalo a couple of times, and while I loved Whittaker, I found the courses can get pretty crowded during weekends.

Good point! Is there a best time to go to avoid those crowds? I really want to enjoy the game.

I also think it’s hilarious how serious folks take their golf shakes after a round. It’s all about enjoying the day, right?

So true! A good drink after a round is essential. What’s your go-to drink?
