Bridgestone Tour B RXS Compression: How Does It Affect Performance?

I’ve been looking into the Bridgestone Tour B RXS golf balls lately, and I keep coming across information about their compression ratio. I’m trying to get a better grasp on what that really means for my game.

Understanding Compression

Compression in golf balls typically refers to how much the ball deforms when it’s struck. Higher compression balls tend to feel firmer and are often better suited for players with faster swing speeds, while lower compression balls can provide a softer feel and may benefit those with slower swings.

My Questions:

  • Distance: Does the compression of the Tour B RXS translate to any noticeable differences in distance?
  • Spin: How does the compression affect the spin rate? For someone looking to control their shots, does this ball provide enough spin or does it fall short?
  • Feel: What’s the feel like off the club face? I’m particularly interested in how it feels during impact compared to other balls like the Titleist Pro V1 or Callaway Chrome Soft.
  • Comparisons: Has anyone played with both the Bridgestone Tour B RXS and other balls? Any insight on how they stack up against each other in practical play?

Final Thoughts

I’m looking for feedback from players who’ve used the Tour B RXS. Any technical specs, reviews, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated! I want to ensure this ball aligns with my swing speed and playing style before I make a purchase.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I recently switched to the Bridgestone Tour B RXS and noticed a significant improvement in my driving distance! The lower compression really suits my slower swing speed, allowing me to get more distance without compromising control.

That’s awesome! I have a medium swing speed and found the RXS helped me too, but I wonder how it compares to the Pro V1 in terms of distance.

I’ve always used a higher compression ball, but I tried the RXS out of curiosity. My drive went further than I expected, even with my fast swing speed! It really enhances distance for both high and low swings!

That’s great to hear! Can you share what your typical swing speed is? I’m eager to see if I should make the switch.

My swing speed is around 90 mph, and I’ve found that switching to the RXS improved my distance by about 10-15 yards on average compared to my previous ball. Definitely worth trying!

That’s impressive! I usually play with a speed of 85 mph. I might have to give it a shot!

I’ve seen mixed reviews on the compression affecting distance. For me, the RXS felt great, but I didn’t see a huge difference unless my swing was on point. Anyone else feel the same?

I had a similar experience. I think swing mechanics play a bigger role than the ball itself. What do you think?

To be honest, the RXS has a nice balance. Even with various swing speeds, it can still deliver decent distance. I would suggest testing a sleeve before committing.

I’ve heard a lot about the RXS. Does anyone think it can actually rival the top brands like Callaway or Titleist when it comes to distance? Just curious about the performance competitive factor!

While competitive, I believe the RXS has its own strengths. It suits those with slower speeds really well. Just depends on individual preferences!

I can’t help but smile thinking about my recent drives with the RXS. It’s like my swing finally found its best friend! But I wonder if it’s just a placebo effect.

Haha! I relate to that! Sometimes I feel like a ball has a personality - anyone else get that vibe?

It’s true! Each ball seems to fit differently with our swings. I’m really catching some added distance with the RXS lately; I’m sold on it!

I’ve been using the Bridgestone Tour B RXS for a few rounds, and I find that the compression really helps with feel around the greens. It rolls nicely for putting and offers great control when chipping.

I’ve noticed the same! The RXS has a soft feel that makes short putts feel more controllable. I used to play with another brand, but this ball feels way better!

For me, the RXS really shines in spin control during short chips. Compared to my old Srixon model, I can generate more backspin with the Bridgestone, which helps on tricky lies.

That’s interesting! I’ve felt a similar difference, but are we sure it’s just the ball? Maybe it’s our technique improving!

I’ve played the RXS a few times, and while I agree it’s great for feel, I find that spin isn’t as consistent as I’d like on firm greens. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
