Bushnell Tour V4 Stuck in Setup Mode - Any Solutions?

Overview

I’m having some trouble with my Bushnell Tour V4 laser rangefinder. It seems to be stuck in setup mode, and I’m unsure how to get it functioning properly. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Here’s what I’ve tried so far, and I’d appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips!

What Happened?

Initially, I was really excited to use my Bushnell Tour V4 during my rounds last weekend, but after I turned it on, it wouldn’t get past the setup mode. The display simply shows the setup options, and pressing the buttons doesn’t respond as expected.

Troubleshooting Steps

Here are the things I’ve attempted to fix the problem:

  • Check the Battery: I swapped out the battery for a new one, making sure it was installed correctly.
  • Reset the Device: I tried resetting the device as per the manual’s instructions but didn’t see any change.
  • Software Update: I looked to see if there were any firmware updates available but couldn’t find any information.

Questions

  • Has anyone resolved this issue?
  • Are there any specific button sequences that might help to exit the setup mode?
  • Is it a common problem with the Tour V4, and should I contact customer support?

Conclusion

I’m really looking forward to using this rangefinder effectively, especially with golf season starting. Any insights, tips, or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

I’ve had my Bushnell Tour V4 get stuck in setup mode before. It’s usually a sign of a software glitch. Have you tried resetting it?

I did a reset, but it didn’t work! It’s so frustrating. What’s the best way to reset it?

Make sure to hold down the power button for about 10 seconds. That usually does the trick for me.

Tried that, but still no luck. It just keeps spinning in setup mode! Any other ideas?

You might want to check the batteries. Fresh batteries sometimes fix the issue. I’ve had that solve mine before.

Good call! I didn’t think of that. I’ll try replacing them and see if it helps.

Don’t forget to clean the lens; sometimes debris can cause setup issues too. Just a suggestion!

I think it’s a bigger issue. My friend had to send theirs back because it was stuck permanently. Anyone had that experience?

I have! It was a hassle to get it replaced. Sometimes it’s just better to do a factory reset first.

Factory reset? I thought the regular reset was enough. How do you do a factory reset?

You usually have to hold down the power and mode buttons simultaneously for 15 seconds.

Okay, I’ll give that a shot. If it works, I’m totally buying you a coffee! No promises, though.

Just remember that if you factory reset, you’ll lose your settings. But it might be worth it in the end!

Haha, no coffee for me, but I appreciate the thought! It’s all about troubleshooting.

Any chance this is a common issue? I feel like I can’t be the only one facing this! @kristi00, did you have any other problems?

Actually, yes! My unit kept shutting off unexpectedly. Could be a sign it’s about to fail.

It might be time to consider a warranty claim if you’re experiencing several issues. Can be a pain, but worth it!

I had the same issue with my Tour V4. It was stuck in setup mode for ages. What worked for me was removing the battery and putting it back in after a few minutes. It reset the device and got me back to normal mode.

I experienced that too, but I was hesitant to take out the battery. Instead, I pressed the power button continuously for 30 seconds, and it finally exited setup mode! Worth a try.
