Is Looking at the Hole While Putting Really Effective?

Great suggestion! It feels a bit like working out—everyone has a different favorite exercise that works best for them! What experiment have you tried recently?

I’ve been focusing on the hole when putting for a few months now, and I can see a big difference in my accuracy. It really helps eliminate distractions on the green!

That makes sense! I’ve tried it too but found I got too distracted by the hole. What do you do to stay focused during the putt?

I use a rhythm technique. I take a few practice swings while looking at the hole to get in the zone before I putt!

I’ve never thought of that! I usually just stand over the ball and hope for the best. I’ll give it a try!

For me, focusing on the hole tends to make my stroke more tense. I prefer to keep my eyes on the ball until the last moment. It’s worked for me so far!

That’s interesting! I guess it really depends on personal preference. Have you faced any issues by not focusing on the hole?

Honestly, I think everyone has their own style. My buddy swears by looking at the hole, but I can’t get into it. It just feels wrong for me!

I know that feeling! It’s fascinating how personal this sport can be. What works for one might totally fail for another.

I’ve heard some pros say it’s all about balance. A friend joked once that looking at the hole is like trying to read a map while driving—distracting!

Haha, that’s so true! I often feel like I’m driving blind when putting! Maybe I should just focus less on the hole altogether!
