Looking for the Best Golf Courses in Nova Scotia!

I’m planning a golfing trip to Nova Scotia and would love to get some insights!

What I’m Looking For

I want to know about the best golf courses in the area. I’m particularly interested in:

  • Rankings: What are the top-rated courses?
  • Reviews: Any personal experiences worth sharing?
  • Course Details: What makes these courses unique or special?
  • Scenic Views: Since I want to enjoy the beautiful landscapes, which courses offer the best views?

Why Nova Scotia?

I’ve heard so much about the beautiful coastlines and charming scenery in Nova Scotia, and I’m excited to combine a love for golf with some sightseeing. I’m hoping to find courses that not only challenge my skills but also provide an enriching experience.

Suggestions Welcome!

If you’ve played in Nova Scotia or have some local knowledge, I’d appreciate your recommendations! Are there any hidden gems or must-plays?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide! Looking forward to hitting the greens soon!

I’ve played several courses in Nova Scotia, and I’d say Cabot Links is a must-try. The ocean views are stunning, and the layout is challenging yet rewarding. Definitely one of the highest-rated courses here!

I absolutely agree! Cabot Cliffs is another gem, just breathtaking. The design integrates the terrain so well; it really enhances the experience.

You can’t forget about the Highlands Links! It’s one of the top in Canada, with a beautiful mix of forest and coastline. Perfect for those who enjoy a serene golf day.

I’ve been to both Cabot courses, and they’re amazing! But if you’re looking for something a little different, the course at the Keltic Lodge offers a fantastic experience too!

I haven’t played Keltic Lodge yet, but I’ve heard great things about their amenities. Are they as good as people say?

Absolutely! They have excellent dining options and great service. Plus, the course itself is well-kept and visually appealing. It’s worth a trip if you’re in the area!

I think it’s important to consider the overall experience. While the greens are crucial, the vibe of the club can really make or break your day, don’t you think?

So true! That’s why I prefer courses with friendly staff. Can anyone speak on that about the courses mentioned?

I find that most courses in Nova Scotia are quite welcoming. However, I had a less-than-great experience at one course where the staff seemed indifferent. It can vary!

That’s a bummer, but I guess every club can have off days. On a lighter note, I once mistakenly played with my putter as a driver! Be careful out there! :joy:

That’s hilarious! Glad it wasn’t a tournament day! Does anyone have tips on which courses are best for beginners?

For beginners, I recommend Chester Golf Club. It’s more forgiving and offers beautiful views without the difficult terrain of some other courses. It’s perfect for building confidence!

Great suggestion! I’d love to hear more about what makes it so beginner-friendly. Is the pace usually relaxed?

If you’re looking for a great mix of courses, check out Cape Breton! It’s stunning and has courses like Cabot Links and Highlands Links that are a must-play. Plus, the views are amazing!

Absolutely! I’ve played at Cabot Links and it didn’t disappoint. The accessibility from Halifax is decent too, about a 3-hour drive!

Don’t forget to visit some of the local attractions while hitting the courses! Places like Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg are easy stops with each course.

Great point! I love combining golf with sightseeing. Plus, local seafood at those spots is fantastic!

The South Shore has some hidden gems too, like the River Oaks Golf Club. It’s not as known but worth a visit if you’re in the area!

I agree! River Oaks is great but make sure to book ahead as it can get busy during peak season.
