Looking for the Best Midwest Golf Resorts - Any Recommendations?

I’m planning a golf trip and I’ve been hearing a lot about some great golf resorts in the Midwest. I would love to hear your suggestions on the best places to stay where I can also get some fantastic golfing in.

What I’m Looking For:

  • Quality Golf Courses: I want to play on some of the best courses available. Any hidden gems or well-known ones that should be on my list?
  • Accommodation: Recommendations for resorts that have great facilities and are golfer-friendly would be ideal.
  • Activities and Amenities: It would be great if the resort offers more than just golf—anything like spas, swimming pools, or good dining options?
  • Tips for Booking: If you have any tips on booking the best deals or times to visit, I’m all ears!

Popular Locations to Consider:

I’ve come across a few names like Whistling Straits in Wisconsin and The Golf Club at Indigo Run in Illinois, but I’m sure there are many more out there.

Thanks in advance for your input! Looking forward to hearing your personal experiences and suggestions.

Happy golfing!

I’ve heard great things about French Lick! How would you rate the 16th hole? I’ve been told it’s quite a memorable one.

I played the 16th hole at French Lick last summer, and it’s incredible! The elevation change really adds to the excitement. The views from up there are breathtaking.

If you’re near Wisconsin, don’t miss the Whistling Straits! The views of Lake Michigan are amazing, and the course is always in top shape. Which Wisconsin courses do you guys love?

Whistling Straits is definitely on my list! Has anyone played the Straits Course? I’ve heard it has some tricky holes.

The Straits Course is tough but so rewarding! The 17th hole, known as the ‘Devil’s Cauldron,’ is a standout. Just keep your tee shot straight!

Another great option is the TPC Deere Run in Illinois. The course layout is fantastic for all skill levels. Anyone have tips for playing the back nine?

Make sure to stay calm on the 15th! It’s a tough par 3, and the pressure can get to you. What’s your experience with the greens there?

The greens at TPC Deere Run are quite challenging! I found them to be fast, especially in the afternoon. Consistency is key!

I’ve stayed at Eagle Ridge a few times! Great amenities and the courses are well-kept. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

Don’t forget about the Grand Geneva Resort in Wisconsin! Their Brute course is one of the best in the area. Any thoughts on which holes are the most enjoyable?

The 18th hole at Grand Geneva is a great finishing hole. It’s a solid par 5 with a beautiful view. Definitely a highlight!

For beginners, I’d recommend checking out the courses at The Inn at St. John’s in Michigan. They offer an enjoyable layout without too much intimidation.

Sounds like a good spot! I’m still looking for courses that are beginner-friendly but still beautiful and fun.

Definitely consider the Blue Heron Pines in Wisconsin then! It’s scenic and perfect for new golfers. Plus, the staff is really friendly!

If you’re looking for top-notch accommodations, I highly recommend Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, WI. The rooms are spacious and well-decorated. Plus, the on-site dining, especially the steakhouse, is superb!

I’ve always enjoyed staying at the Forest Dunes Golf Club in Michigan. The lodging is quite cozy, and the food is great. They even have a great selection of local craft beers!
