I completely agree. Implementing Kenyon’s methods has helped me trust my stroke and eliminated a lot of the overthinking that used to plague my putting.

I’m curious to hear more about the specific drills and techniques Kenyon recommends for improving putting. Are there any that you’ve found particularly helpful?

One of my favorite Kenyon drills is the “tee gate” exercise, where you set up two tees a few inches apart and try to roll the ball through the gate. It really helps with tempo and stroke consistency.

I’ve heard great things about Kenyon’s teaching style and his ability to simplify the putting stroke. Do you find that his methods are easy to implement on the course, or do they take a lot of practice to master?

It takes some time to really ingrain Kenyon’s principles, but once they become second nature, it’s amazing how much more confident and consistent your putting becomes on the course. The key is to be patient and keep practicing the drills.

I’ve been struggling with my putting for years, and I’m really intrigued by Kenyon’s approach. Do you think his methods would be beneficial for someone like me who has developed a lot of bad habits over time?

Absolutely! Kenyon is a master at helping golfers unlearn bad habits and rebuild a fundamentally sound putting stroke. His approach is very patient and systematic, focusing on the basics before gradually adding complexity. I’d highly recommend giving it a try.

I’ve seen a lot of tour players working with Kenyon lately. Do you think his methods are more suited for elite-level golfers, or can recreational players also benefit from his teachings?

I think Kenyon’s philosophies can be incredibly valuable for golfers at all levels. While the top pros may be able to implement his techniques more quickly, I’ve seen recreational players make huge improvements in their putting consistency and confidence by working with him. His approach is really about simplifying the stroke and building a repeatable, pressure-proof routine.

I’ve heard that Kenyon’s coaching can get pretty expensive. Is it really worth the investment, or are there more affordable ways to learn his methods?

While Kenyon’s one-on-one coaching may be out of reach for some, there are definitely more affordable options to learn his techniques. He has a lot of great instructional content online and in books/videos that can provide a solid foundation. And many local teaching professionals also incorporate Kenyon’s principles into their lessons at a fraction of the cost.

I’ve been experimenting with Kenyon’s “tension release” technique, but I’m having a hard time getting the feel for it. Any tips on how to really internalize that aspect of his putting philosophy?

The key is to really focus on consciously relaxing your grip and arms as you transition from your backstroke to your forward stroke. Try doing some slow-motion drills where you exaggerate the release of tension. It may feel unnatural at first, but with practice, it becomes a natural part of your stroke.

Haha, I can just imagine some golfers trying to implement Kenyon’s methods and looking like they’re doing some kind of awkward dance routine on the green. But I guess that’s all part of the learning process, right?

You’re absolutely right! Changing your putting stroke is never going to be a seamless process. It takes time and dedication to retrain your muscle memory. But the payoff is worth it - once you get the feel for Kenyon’s techniques, your putting stroke becomes so much more consistent and reliable.

I recently had the chance to work one-on-one with Phil Kenyon, and it was a game-changer for my putting. His ability to diagnose and fix even the most subtle flaws in my stroke was truly impressive.
