I’ve been planning a golfing trip and I’m really excited, but I have some concerns about transporting my golf clubs on Southwest Airlines. I want to make sure my equipment arrives safely and without any unexpected costs. Here are a few questions that I hope you all can help me with:
Baggage Policies
What are the baggage fees for golf clubs on Southwest? I’ve heard that they have a pretty lenient policy, but I want to clarify.
Can I check my golf bag as a regular bag, or does it need special handling?
Packing Tips
Any advice on how to pack golf clubs for flight? I want to ensure that they are well-protected to avoid any damage.
What kind of travel cover or case do you recommend?
Experiences
If you’ve taken your clubs on Southwest before, what was your experience? Did everything go smoothly? Any tips that could help me?
I appreciate any guidance you can offer. Thank you in advance for your help!
Southwest Airlines allows you to check your golf clubs as part of your normal baggage. Just make sure your bag doesn’t exceed 50 pounds to avoid extra fees!
Southwest does not charge for the first two checked bags, but after that, there are fees. Just keep your golf clubs as your first or second bag to save money!
I’ve flown with Southwest multiple times with my clubs. I highly recommend using a hard shell travel case. It really protects your gear! Always add some extra padding too.
