What do you think about the Titleist 714 AP2 irons?

I find the AP2s quite sleek and visually pleasing. They inspire confidence over the ball! Does anyone else feel they perform better on approach shots compared to other brands?

Absolutely! I think that aesthetic factor really helps with performance. It’s like they make you want to hit better shots!

While I like the AP2s, I have to say the TaylorMade P790s provide a much more modern feel and performance boost with their distance.

Does anyone feel that the 714s have too much workability for higher handicappers? I think they can be challenging if you don’t have a consistent swing.

That’s a fair point. I think if you’re less consistent, a cavity back like the Callaway Rogue would be more suitable.

The AP2s are great, but I got a good chuckle when my buddy tried using them to swing like Rory. Stick to your own style, right?

Haha, yes! Those clubs won’t change your swing mechanics. It’s all about finding what works for you.

Reflecting on my experience, I would say the AP2s excel in performance for skilled players but may lock out beginners. It’s a trade-off for those high-quality shots.

I love the AP2s for their consistency but am curious about the differences from the newer 718s. Is it worth the upgrade?

I think that’s subjective. If you want more technology and feel, the 718s are an upgrade. But the 714s still hold their own, especially in value.

I expect a solid performance from Titleist, so I was disappointed in the AP2s’ durability over time. My old Callaway X22s held up better.

I’ve been using the Titleist 714 AP2 irons for the past year. They have an amazing feel and are very forgiving on mishits. I highly recommend getting fitted for them to optimize performance!

Fitting is definitely key! I went through a fitting session and it changed my entire game. These clubs are so versatile once they are customized to your specs.

I’ve played with several iron sets, but the AP2s keep drawing me back. They provide solid feedback, and my approach shots have improved drastically.

Does anyone have tips for maintenance? I’ve noticed they can get scuffed easily. How do you guys keep your clubs looking sharp after a few rounds?

Great question, teresamoore! I usually clean mine with warm soapy water and a soft brush after each round. It keeps them in good shape and makes a big difference!

I love the AP2s, but I think they can be a little tough for beginners. If you’re just starting, maybe look into something more forgiving.

I agree, but the AP2s are worth the investment! After some practice, they can definitely help you lower your scores. They’re like a “reward” once you master them.

I was skeptical about all the hype, but after using my friend’s AP2s, I had to get a pair! They’re so consistent, making it hard to argue against their reputation.

Anyone tried using them in wet conditions? I found the grip to be surprisingly good compared to my old set.
