I think the average lengths are quite indicative of why certain strategies work. Playing a 550-yard par 5 means lining up shots that can allow for better control.
Definitely agree, but I’d suggest sometimes bending the rules. Trust your instincts and don’t be trapped by the average lengths. Golf is too nuanced for that!
